What is broadband?
A: A broadband connection gives you quick access to the Internet - exactly how quick will depend on which Talk Warehouse Broadband package you choose. With broadband, your Internet connection is 'always-on', so you can enjoy all the Internet has to offer - from music and entertainment to banking and keeping in touch with relatives and friends - at any time of the day or night.


What does 'always-on' mean for a Broadband connection?
A: Broadband Internet access is commonly referred to as 'always-on', which means that you'll enjoy continuous access without having to dial-up to the Internet. This doesn't mean that you have to always leave your computer on, or pay more to keep the connection. It's there twenty-four hours a day, whenever you need it. 


What is a broadband download limit and how will it affect me?
A: A download limit is also sometimes called ‘capping’ a broadband download limit imposes a restriction on how long you can spend online, and how much information you can download or upload over a given amount of time. These download limits may apply to surfing the Internet, watching movies online, downloading music and even sending and receiving emails. 


What does bandwidth, Kbps and Mbps mean?
A: All three terms refer to the speed of your Internet connection, with bandwidth being measured in Kbps or Mbps. Bandwidth - the capacity of your Internet connection to send and receive data. Imagine your Internet connection is a pipe - the bigger the pipe (or bandwidth) - the faster the information will flow. Kbps - stands for Kilobits per second. Kbps is used to measure bandwidth, the higher the number, the faster the information is sent or received. Mbps - stands for Megabits per second. Mbps is also used to measure bandwidth, with 1 Megabit (MB) equivalent to 1000 Kbps.


Will Broadband affect my phone service?
A: No, you'll still be able to use your phone while you're online with no need to install a separate phone line or change your phone number. You will automatically receive your installation and router pack, which will contain special 'filters'. Plug these in to use your phone and be online at the same time. 


Do I need permission to install Talk Warehouse Broadband?
A: With Talk Warehouse Broadband you use your BT phone line so you don’t need any permission as long as the phone line is in your name. 


Does an engineer need to visit my home?
A: You will be able to set up Talk Warehouse Broadband yourself using the Talk Warehouse Broadband in a Box installation and router package we will send you. 


Can I switch my Broadband to Talk Warehouse?
A:If you want to change your broadband service from another provider to Talk Warehouse, you’ll need a Migration Authority Code (MAC) to make sure your service is not disrupted.


What number do I call to get my MAC Code?
A: You need to call your current broadband provider. Remember, you need a MAC code to benefit from the Talk Warehouse Broadband Switcher offer.
